About this data
Source: Election Commission of India, statistical reports for the 1972 Mizoram assembly election (detailed results, list of winners, list of parties). Vote shares are of valid votes, excluding NOTA, as ECI reports them. Turnout here is votes counted (including NOTA) divided by electors, so it runs slightly below ECI's official figure, which also counts rejected votes.
Held while Mizoram was a Union territory (statehood came in 1987).
ECI's report lists the biggest group of winners as independents: candidates of parties that were not recognised then are recorded as independents.
