About this data
Source: Election Commission of India, statistical reports for the 1972 Jammu and Kashmir assembly election (detailed results, list of winners, list of parties). Vote shares are of valid votes, excluding NOTA, as ECI reports them. Turnout here is votes counted (including NOTA) divided by electors, so it runs slightly below ECI's official figure, which also counts rejected votes.
Held when Ladakh was part of the state of Jammu and Kashmir; the seats include Ladakh's.
5 seats were won unopposed, so no poll was held there.
Map boundaries are approximate and for illustration.
